About the Author

Dr. David S. Weiss is President and CEO of Weiss International Ltd., a firm specializing in innovation, leadership, and human resources consulting. Previously Chief Innovation Officer in a multinational consulting firm, David also teaches in three executive development programs at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, the Schulich School of Business at York University, and The University College of Cayman Islands. His doctorate is from the University of Toronto, and he has Masters degrees in Education and Psychology from Columbia University.
David is also a Senior HR Professional (SHRP), an Institute Certified Director (ICD.D) with the Institute of Corporate Directors, an advisory board member of the Canadian Society for Training and Development, a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP), and a past Director on the Board of the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. This book presents a new vision for HR's role in business. Dr. Weiss sees this as an exciting time for Human Resources as a profession and those within it. “Human Resources professionals are taking on greater leadership roles and are making a significant contribution to their organization’s success,” he explains. “In many organizations, HR professionals are treated as the trusted advisors who are expected to fully understand the business requirements and deliver HR value with a clear line of sight to the external customer.”

I would like to keep this book for future reference so the ...

Very informative text, and provided me with a wealth of knowledge that I just began to tap into for a leadership course I just completed. My only complaint is the book is starting to come apart, pages falling out, from only the initial and very gentle use. I would like to keep this book for future reference so the fact that it is deteriorating before my eyes is a little disappointing.
