Superb Book

This is a superb and brief guide to attracting and keeping a girlfriend. It is easy to read, well organized, and practical. I have included some quotes.
"If she's your girlfriend, that means you don't get to have other girlfriends." This is true. The goal is to find the best one girlfriend, not a sequence of one night stands.
Alanis starts the process with making the list of positive characteristics, as well as negative. "On the flip side- make a list of the characteristics you absolutely cannot live WITH." This is extremely important.
This is true much of the time..."all single women secretly wake up every day thinking this may finally be the day they meet a funny, cool guy who will become their boyfriend." "Do women like men who make a lot of money? Of course, they do. Do they like handsome men? Of course..." A study described in the TV show Science of Sex proved this without a doubt. The author suggests, "Let's talk about the principle of "massive action." When you start implementing your skills, do it on a massive level." The idea is to send out a lot of invitations and responses so you can get a lot of names and a lot of feedback. Everyone has a history. "the road to your girlfriend is paved with the failures of other men." What happens with on-line dating sites? "I had a friend of mine who put up a profile and a cute picture of herself, and got two thousand emails within the first two days of setting up her profile, all with the same shallow messages above." This is always true. "Women like well-groomed men so get a haircut, trim your nails, and manicure the facial hair. There have been direct response studies showing that men with beards and mustaches are trusted far less than men who are clean cut."
This is also true. "There's something called "personal authority" ...Essentially, it's about leading in the interaction, and so if you like her, lead in the interaction. At the conclusion of the date, say, "I had a good time. Let's meet at (insert time and place). Sound good to you?" If she didn't like you or is not into it, she'll have an excuse. If she is, she'll meet you there. No "maybe dates."
I love story telling "Another important part of attraction is mastering the art of story telling. You want to be able to craft an ordinary, everyday event into a funny anecdote." Some women react very badly to any cologne. One thing you can ask is for her to suggest some brand colognes that she enjoys. "Some guys like to wear cologne. I advise against that, at least initially because you could wear cologne that could conjure up some bad memories.
In sum, this book is a very useful and practical help. I hope later editions add the tip that anyone who sets up an artist's easel in public will meet a ton of people, and it is always helpful to have a puppy along with you. Works like a charm.

Very enlightening

Reading "Can This Book Get You An Exceedingly Hot Girlfriend Too? (John Alanis' Women Approach You Series) " really started to make sense for me. In my past relationship with women, I always had on and off times. I either have a bunch of women in my life or have no woman in my life. Reading this book and making a distinction with my past experiences started to make a lot of sense. In fact most of my relationship started with the fact that she really despised me and think of me as a scoundrel even though I did not even intent for that to happen. It made me realize that although some of it was about compatibility, but it is also about the process described in the book. In times of success, i was this really cool awesome person, when I am alone, I was the emotional bitter girly man who thinks nothings going to be right for me.

A valuable and informative tome!

I decided to download this book after subscribing to the authors newsletter and enjoying the contents contained therein. The book offers sound advice on how to figure out why you want a girlfriend and then how and where to meet her. The book commands you to step outside your comfort zone and talk to women and suggestions the places and situations to make talking to women as easy as possible.
The parts of the book most helpful to me were as follows, the suggestion to figure out what type of girlfriend you want to meet before trying to find one, the assertion that you will fail sometimes and learn from those failures, and finally I learned that women need a variety of activities in their lives and need a man who can give them that. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who needs help finding a great woman to spend their lives with and plan on referring to this book often as I try to find a woman of my own.
