I read this book in one night. It was good. I like that Hugh is both a hero in war and at home. Most of all he knew what he wanted and set to win over his lady love by being himself.

Didn't put this down until I was finished.

The story was different! Which is a totally good thing, the concept was fresh. The characters were fresh with their own problems but they brought them together to make an incredible love.

The book attempts to shed light on the nature and function of emotions, drawing on the latest theories in evolutionary psychology and cognitive neuroscience, as well as the older, established motivational and psychodynamic traditions. Author Robert Plutchik demonstrates the fundamental importance of emotions to all living creatures, and their crucial role in ensuring both bodily and genetic survival. Designed as a textbook for upper level undergraduate and graduate students of psychology, this book contains useful chapter previews and summary material and is richly illustrated. Starting with an overview of some of the challenges involved in studying emotion, Plutchik discusses how thinkers such as Darwin, James, Cannon and Freud have conceptualized emotion and then describes the views of many contemporary researchers and theoreticians concerning emotions. Subsequent chapters examine such topics as the links between emotions and cognitions, the linguistic problems involved in trying to describe emotions, key contemporary theories of emotion, measurement and assessment issues, the functions of facial expression, how emotional expressions and thinking develop and change over the lifespan, insights evolutionary theory offer into the nature and generality of emotions, how humans and other animals communicate emotion, and how brain mechanisms are related to emotions. About the Author
Robert Plutchik, PhD, is professor emeritus of psychiatry and psychology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, as well as adjunct professor at the University of South Florida. He has taught at Columbia, Rostra, Yeshiva, and Long Island Universities and lectured widely in the United States and in many countries around the world including New Zealand, Greece, Austria, China, Japan, Colombia, Germany, Israel, Argentina, and Canada. He spent two years at the National Institute of Mental Health participating in brain research. He has been Director of Program Development and Clinical Research at the Bronx Psychiatric Center in New York City, and he later became Associate Director of the Psychiatry Department at Jacoby Hospital, an affiliate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Likewise, I also often refer to the book. My subjective take is that Dr. Plutchik illustrates in many ways how emotions can be modulated using his 360 degree model of emotions. I highly recommend this book.

Excellent Book!

This book gives an extremely complete look at emotions from the perspectives it promises. While the section on evolution is somewhat speculative, the section on biology gives a comprehensive look at how emotions are manifested in the brain, with multiple complimentary models presented in the psychology section. The book is extremely well written and easy to read and understand, yielding an excellent primer on understanding emotions in life. I still find myself referring to it quite often in discussions about emotions months after I finished reading it.

Interesting alternate reality...

The circumstance would be totally unreal to us, but this couple takes a chance that a computer can find their soulmate. Not only that but then they sign a permanently binding contract that marries them without meeting each other. Amanda's character is pretty shallow, she wants everything she wants now. Samuel's character is an ass, manipulative and bossy. The main feature of the story is the erotica, which is as it should be and it does not disappoint. But, allowing for the alternate reality, the plot is good too.

Not the best quality for something described as new.

There's a large black marker spot on the bottom of the book, which is pretty annoying seeing as the product is described as new. The actual content of this light novel is amazing though.

Light novel, medium to heavy content

After ordering and reading the first volume of this title, I found myself 'haunting' the Amazon site, waiting for the second volume to be released. I had to wait a couple of months, but the wait was worth it. I found myself liking the second volume more than the first (of course, since the second answered questions that I had from the first, I MIGHT have been a little biased toward Volume 2).

The personal interactions in this book get more and more complex and detailed, until I found myself feeling that I was 'spying' on the lives of several people and enjoying it immensely. I was a bit disappointed that a couple of things that had been left under-detailed in the first book were treated to rather short shrift in this one, but overall, this book was every bit as enjoyable as the first one. I can't WAIT for the NEXT volume!!!

Man or woman, young or old, if you like 'slice-of-life' fiction with a touch of romance thrown in as spice, both Volume 1 and Volume 2 come with a high recommendation from me.

More story then the Anime

By the time You finish reading the second "Strawberry Panic" Novel You'll find a new story line with twists that never happened in the Anime.. If you loved the Anime, You should buy and read the Novel's, there's much more to them..
